Steve and Donna Shober - Senior Pastors
They have been married for 26 years and have two children ages 19 and 17. The extent of their ministry is widespread. After graduating from Bethany Bible College, in May 1987, they have been church planters, youth and college pastors and missionaries to Norway. Steve has also taken teams of people on mission trips to other countries. In addition to serving as Senior Pastors, they are the Superintendents for the Foursquare Bay Area District. An important aspect of Steve and Donna's ministry is to believe in people and to look for ways to promote them in ministry. They believe every person has value and significance. Through the many ministry endeavors that they so have enjoyed, Steve and Donna have a heart to see others become successful in their ministry adventures.
Michael and Kim Howard - Assistant Pastors
Michael and Kim Howard have been married for 17 years, and have three boys. They have been in church leadership for much of those 17 years. Before coming to New Hope in September ‘07, they were the senior pastors of a church plant that came from the Coastlands in Aptos, at which they were pastors on staff for 4 years. Restoration Foursquare, located on the Westside of Santa Cruz, was growing at a great pace, but after 2 years, the Lord called Pastor Steve and Michael to a new vision for the region. They decided to merge churches, and turn their focus more mission oriented. With a focus on college age, and how we might, as a congregation, help our local community groups better serve the people groups they attend to. Right now, Michael and Kim oversee Solution, Home Church, and some of church operations.
Aaron and Christine Redshaw - Assistant Pastors
Since coming to New Hope in 2001, they have served in various ministries of the church from Children’s Ministries and Youth Group to Church Council. Aaron has taught various Bible Studies and has a heart to see men grow in their love for God and His Word. He also desires to see men find freedom in Christ. Christine has a heart for children. She served as a Children’s Ministries Director long before having children of her own. Upon the birth of her first son, and after encountering the challenges of being a new parent, she joined MOPS (Mothers of PreSchoolers). Because of the support and love she received through MOPS, she started and coordinated MOPS at New Hope for 3 years. Currently she and Aaron are overseeing the Early Childhood Ministries classes for children ages 0-5 years. Their desire is to provide fun and foundational lessons for PreSchoolers and to support their parents and their unique needs. They have two sons. Aaron and Christine have a heart for people who feel like they are on the outside, and they have a desire to make everyone welcome. They know this as one of the great things about God. He always welcomes us and loves us right where we are.
